SCE&G Offers Customers Even Higher Rebates for Installation of New Energy Star-Qualified Heating and Cooling Systems
Thursday, April 19th, 2018
SCE&G residential electric customers can prepare for the coming summer heat with a little more peace of mind. When installing new Energy Star-qualified central air conditioners and heat pumps in their homes, eligible customers can take advantage of higher rebates valued up to $500.
SCE&G increased the rebates in anticipation of hotter temperatures during the summer. Extreme heat can cause older heating and cooling systems, especially those that are more than 15 years old, to fail.
“By replacing current heating and cooling systems with Energy Star equipment, customers can reduce their energy usage and costs, improve their comfort at home, and receive cash back,” said Josh McMillin, an energy program manager for SCE&G. “We’re excited to offer such significant rebates to help our customers save money while updating their HVAC systems and to be ready for any heat wave that may come.”
Rebates vary according to the type and efficiency level of the equipment installed, and all rebate applications and invoices must be submitted within 90 days of installation. Only customers who install new Energy Star qualified equipment on or after April 2 will be eligible for the increased rebate.
SCE&G is also offering residential electric customers rebates up to $300 for eligible improvements to existing heating and cooling ductwork systems. All ductwork improvement rebate applications and invoices must be submitted within 90 days of the service.
