Gas Prices Up on the Week, Down on the Month As Demand Remains High

Staff Report From South Carolina CEO

Tuesday, July 10th, 2018

North Carolina’s statewide gas average ($2.67) is up two cents on the week and South Carolina’s $2.53 average is up one cent on the week. Prices are fluctuating across the nation, with some states seeing slight increases while some are seeing slight decreases.

“Demand for gasoline this summer remains very strong week-over-week, driving gas prices higher alongside rising crude prices,” said Tiffany Wright, AAA Carolinas spokesperson. “Today motorists across the Carolinas are experiencing a relief from the peak prices we have been used to, but are still paying over 50 cents higher than this time last year.”

South Carolina’s $2.53 average remains the cheapest average in the country.
