Monday, August 27th, 2018
On Tuesday, August 21, the McLeod Regional Medical Center Stroke Team gathered together to celebrate their recent awards and recognitions achieved for the care of stroke patients.
One of the awards received was the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award. This award recognizes the hospital’s commitment in ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines and the latest scientific evidence.
“It starts in the community with the stroke education we conduct during our outreach efforts,” said Todd Hazzard, Associate Vice President of Patient Services. “It takes the entire hospital system and our partners with EMS to offer the level of stroke care we provided to the 1,010 patients we cared for in 2017.”
“You can’t get any better stroke care than you can get here at McLeod,” said Marie Saleeby, Senior Vice President and Administrator of McLeod Regional Medical Center. “We appreciate what each member of the Stroke Team is doing to make a difference in the care of stroke patients.”
