Philip Lader Appointed to AMC Board, Re-Elected to RAND Corp. Board of Trustees

Former United States Ambassador to the Court of ST. James and retired Charleston partner Philip Lader has been appointed by AMC Entertainment to its Board of Directors and has been re-elected as a trustee of RAND corporation. Lader is also a member of RAND's investment and executive committees and previously served as vice chairman from 2010-2011.
AMC Entertainment, a NYSE Company, is the world's largest owner and operator of movie theaters, offering more than 1,000 theaters and 11,000 screens around the world with AMC Theatres holding the largest market share of film-goers in the U.S. RAND Corporation (Research ANd Development) is an American nonprofit global policy think tank created in 1948 by Douglas Aircraft Company to offer research and analysis to the United States Armed Forces. It is financed by the U.S. government and private endowment, corporations, universities, and private individuals.
Lader is also a trustee at Bankinter Foundation for Innovation in Spain and previously served as a trustee at the Smithsonian Museum of American History (2007-2017), British Museum (2001-2006), and at St. Paul’s Cathedral Foundation in London (2001-2010). He also has served as president of Winthrop University (1983-1986), Bond University (1991-1992), and Sea Pines Company.
Lader is a senior adviser for Morgan Stanley Investment Banking and a member of its investment committee on global infrastructure and real estate funds. While a partner at Nelson Mullins, he counseled corporate clients regarding corporate governance and strategy; international and public policy matters; large-scale land, real estate, and recreation assets; and fast-growth technologies businesses' development and expansion.
